Drawbacks of XIAOMI REDMI 3 : SIM Slots and External Memory Management

Disadvantages of XIAOMI REDMI 3 : SIM Slots and External Memory Management

There are two drawbacks of Xiaomi Redmi 3. Not that they will hurt you so much but some people will feel handcuffed because of these drawbacks. Both are related to Dual SIM functionality.

First one is though it support Dual Sim but one slot support Micro Sim and another Nano Sim. This will hurt those who have multiple mobile phones and regularly swap their mobile. As, not all mobile phones support Nano Sim, once you convert your Mini Sim or Micro Sim to Nano sim, you will have to take help of an extra accessory i.e. a SIM Card Adapters. This is not going to put a hole in your pocket. You can invest some extra bucks in a mobile phone that will going to cost around ₹7000.

Second drawback is for those who use two sims frequently and are heavy memory user, as you can only add a Micro SD memory card as an expanded memory only if one of the SIM card slot is vacant. As, Slot 2 supports both the Nano-SIM card / Micro SD expansion card and Slot 1 supports Micro-SIM card. Else deal with 11-12GB internal memory available from total of 16GB. This is not gonna hurt to those who don't eat up their memory by taking high resolution photos, Full HD videos and installing lots of games and apps. But those who does have to sacrifice the SIM Slot 2 to make way for memory card.

Well the above two drawbacks are not going to stand in front of the features this mobile is having. It features a massive 4100 mAh battery and gorgeous diamond-patterned metal frame. Weights just 144g but packs a 5" HD display (1280 * 720 resolution), Snapdragon 616 and 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras. 2GB LPDDR3 memory and 16 GB internal memory. Runs on Android Lollipop based MIUI 7. All this in just around ₹7000.

But the question arises is Xiaomi will ever launch Redmi 3 in India? As, they have the habit of launching big features phone in China and launching low grade left overs in India.
